Tonbridge Lions For over 75 years, Tonbridge Lions have been dedicated to serving our local community. Lions are members of the world\’s largest and most active service organization with 1.4 million members active in over 200 countries and geographic areas. Tonbridge Lions are one of 48,000 such Clubs around the world and this Club’s principle aim is to provide help or funds for those most in need in and around Tonbridge. We are proud to have served Tonbridge since 1949… the very first Lions Club to be formed In the UK and still one of the largest in the country. The Lions are: • Part of a global movement that serves ordinary people. • People who have decided to give something back to their community. • People who enjoy working as a team to help those less fortunate than themselves. • People who with their partners enjoy social occasions. The year is packed with community or fund-raising activities nearly every month…. In the last year Tonbridge Lions Club have donated in excess of £30,000, most of which was distributed to charities and projects in and around Tonbridge in support of youth, the elderly, special needs, local charities, health, community events and much more.
