Rochester & West Kent Art Society (R&WKAS)

Rochester & West Kent Art Society (R&WKAS) is a thriving, friendly group for all with a passion for the visual arts, in Medway and beyond. Both artists and art lovers are welcome. We meet on the third Thursday evening of the month (September to June) at the Vines Church in Rochester. Our programme of excellent speakers, demonstrators and workshop leaders features renowned local artists, and some from farther afield. It includes drawing, painting, life drawing, collage, printmaking, ceramics, fabric, fashion, and more. In the summer we meet weekly from July through to September to sketch and paint outside together, normally between 11am – 4pm, in a wide variety of local places of natural beauty and historic interest. We hold exhibitions three or four times each year, at such places as The Halpern Galleries, Churches, Sun Pier House and local libraries.
